PCC, Electoral Roll, Outing to Cambridge

Annual Parochial Church Meeting 23rd April

This will be held on Monday 23rd April at 7pm in the Village Hall. There are seven vacancies for the PCC (note: 4 existing members who have completed their first 3-year term, and 1 co-opted member, are eligible to stand for re-election).  You will see this year, exceptionally, we have vacancies for terms of 1, 2, and 3 years in order to re-establish the prescribed pattern.  Additionally there are vacancies for two churchwardens (note: both existing wardens are eligible to stand for re-election).  Nomination forms for all these positions are at the back of the Church.

Please check that your entry on the Electoral Roll is correct. Forms are at the back of Church if you wish your name to be added to the Roll.

Any alterations and completed forms to be given to Vickie Weaver.

Outing to Cambridge Sunday 20th May

The Afternoon outing to Cambridge with visits to Emmanuel College & Evensong at Gonville & Caius College, departs at 2.00pm.

Benefice Service for May

It will be Ascension Day on 17th of May. Traditionally a Paschal Candle is lit during Worship between Easter and Ascension, to remind us of Christ’s bringing light to the world, and is lit for Baptisms.

At Midday a special service will be held at preston St Mary, with guest preacher, the Dean of Emmanuel College Cambridge, followed by Farm Walk at Priory Farm with Blessing of the Crops & Celebration Barbeque.

Christian Aid Week 13-19 May 2012

The theme of this years Christian Aid Week is ‘Let’s Give The Tools to help people in poverty out of poverty’, and on Sunday 29th April the Area Representative for Christian Aid, Eldred Willey will be our visiting preacher at the 10.15am service at Lavenham Parish Church.
