Curate to leave Lavenham following his new appointment

The Right Reverend Martin Seeley, Bishop of St Edmundsbury and Ipswich, has announced this morning that that our Curate, The Revd Mark Woodrow, has been appointed as the next Priest in Charge of Stoke by Nayland with Leavenheath and Polstead, and Nayland with Wissington.

MAP LARGEMark has spent the past three years serving the people of Lavenham and Preston St. Mary, as both Deacon and Priest.

His final Sunday in Lavenham will be at Lavenham’s Patronal Festival on Sunday 3rd July.

Mark will be then be licensed to his new parishes at a special service on Thursday July 21st, further details will be available nearer the time.

Please hold Mark in your prayers, as he prepares to move into the next stage of his ministry.

  1. The Reverend Mark Woodrow will need a curate of his own to cover the five churches and many communities under his care. I certainly pray for him, having had, in my last appointment before retiring, five churches, two of which were on islands in Moreton Bay, Queensland. I was blessed to have a curate and four retired clergy helping maintain services of worship. I also pray that Lavenham Church will have a capable curate appointed to replace Mark.
